    three fatal flaws
I run a small law office. The old model would give me 50 copies, SORTED of a 15 page document; this one won’t.
Fatal error-this one will not reliably print envelopes!

very average dependable workhorse, no frills
lots of pros have been listed here and I agree, but really, on a daily basis I am super-annoyed that manual feeding is a one page at a time affair…

    Great printer, poor toner
I love this printer, but had issues with the toner running out so quickly. The replacement cartridge started giving me “Low Toner” messages after 800 pages.

    Brother MFC-784W
Setup was easy except to get the scanner to work. I have Windows XP and could not get the scanner to work, despite going to the website and scouring it for information.

Need a techie degree to install it as a wireless.
The Brothers Multipurpose mfc-7840w is a pain in the neck to set up with ones router. they give way too much info. as if we are all geeks.

This is the best-value multi-function that prints and scans wirelessly from and to your computer. Fast and high quality laser printouts.

MFC 7840 – Great Printer with a Horrid Software Interface
I purchased this wireless printer to make one printer available to everyone on my whole-house Mac-based network.

    Great Value MFP
This black and white laser printer does the job. It prints quickly, and scans documents just as expected.

This printer was a breeze to set up on my wireless network, tested all functions and they work flawlessly. Very good all around!
